Oh Christmas Tree...

Oooo Sparkleeeeee!

Another Christmas Card with the Lovely as a Tree set. Almost the same layout just turned on its side. Same basic elements. This time I used the single tree as the main image. Same papers, but I used the Cuttlebug Embossing folder in my big shot to add some snowflake 'blobs' in the background...

Again Nestabilities for the large oval and scalloped oval, SU punches for the small.
I used some silver elastic cord on this one instead of the usual ribbon, I wanted the tree to be the focus and thought the ribbon would distract...

Recipe. same as last post but whisper white cardstock and silver cord.

Challenge yourself today!

Ok, Ok! So I know by this point you are probably REALLY fed up with me this week...! What does this woman think she is doing? Posting this much in a single week cant be good for the health...! SORRY ;P

I need to post these cards as they were both for a challenge and only run for a week.. Well its Wednesday already so here you go. For those of a weak dispostition who feel their strength waning at all these cards - feel free to close your eyes!

(If youre looking for the DCBD Challenge card... Scroll down!)

Here is this weeks challenge from Stamp With Us. Its a layout challenge and for me was tricky!

While I was struggling with the layout trying to get it to look balanced I realised I should have made a square card. Would have made the process alot easier!

This is a fabbo new stamp set from the US Stampin Up! Catalog called Charming... The stamps are made to coordinate with some really sweet jewelery and Charms that you can change and stamp little panels that go inside... Really sweet!

Recipe. (All SU!)
Stamps: Charming
Card: So Saffron, Very Vanilla
Paper: Tea & Crumpets DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, So Saffron.
........................................................................................

Sooo, sorry to overwhelm you but this card was made from the same sketch and ALSO a Colour Challenge from Diva Coffee Break Design.

Can I tell you... This one made my head hurt! I am still not happy with the card.. Cant get my head around it. But hey ho!

The whole reason for doing this colour challenge was the ribbon... I had a small length in my stash - you know the type you get free on the front of a crafting magazine and as soon as I saw the colours I knew...

Like I said, not 100% happy with it but... Its funny anyway!

Recipe. (All SU! unless stated otherwise)
Stamps: Wanda's Wit and Wisdom, Crazy for Cupcakes
Card: Very Vanilla
Papers: Real Red DSP
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Real Red SU Markers.
Blender Pens. Ribbon from stash.

Go visit these websites... Challenge yourself today!

Stamp With Us - Colour Challenge

PHEW! Had a scary moment or two today... The PC froze on me and wouldnt re-boot or do anything it should do for about 4 hours! AAARRRGGGGHHH! It always seems to protest when the Other Half isnt here! Just my luck!!!

Anyway, just as I was warming up my lap top and trying to connect the ethernet cable (internet) to it when, Whizz, Bang, Pop! Old Reliable decides to wake up again. Seems all I needed to do was disconnect the modem for some reason...

Anyway heres a different project for me... Its for a challenge over on Stamp With Us to use this photo as the inspiration for a project...

Ewwwww! Bright Colours! NOT ME!

Heres my card, Its a interesting fold too. Its called a side step card and measures 5" x 5" when folded. Fun huh? Dont ask for the measurements as I dont remember! (I think I got the instructions a while ago from Splitcoast Stampers for those that visit there...)

I made the patterned paper myself using my new stamp set from SU! called 5th Avenue Floral... LOVE IT!

I also made the flowers myself using the round scallop punch and an embossing tool...

Recipe: All cardstock SU - Whisper White, Pink Passion, Only Orange, Real Red. Details with Rose Red, Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.
Stamps: 5th Avenue Floral and Best Yet.
Inks: Pink Passion, Only Orange and Real Red.
Round Scallop Punch, White Gel Pen. Stickles Glitter Glue.

Im loving the challenges at the moment can you tell? Makes you think outside your comfort zone!
Enjoy!

Another Challenge

Here is another card from a challenge set over on www.inlovewithstamping.com/forum our fab new website for inspiration and all things Stampin' Up! The challenge was to make a card using set colours: Orchid Opulence, Elegant Eggplant and Certainly Celery.

I used Very Vanilla for a card base and VersaMarked the leaf image from the Touch of Nature stamp set randomly over this to make a watermark effect. The words were stamped in Basic Grey Ink and the large butterfly was overlaid using the 'stamping off' technique (ink up your stamp as usual but before placing on you final position stamp off some of the colour on a scrap piece of paper. this produces a faded image when stamped again)

The edges of the Eggplant and Orchid card were punched with the Spiral Punch and the Celery and Vanilla were ripped. Add a touch of Celery Grosgrain ribbon and you are done.

(Not strictly SU but the small butterflies were stamped onto Shrink Plastic - same stamp as before - and heated with my heat gun till they are shrunk! These were attached with glue dots...)

Thanks for looking,
Enjoy...
